Eugene Man Stopped For Traffic Violation Found With Nearly 3 Pounds of Marijuana

An Oregon State Police (OSP) recruit trooper seized nearly 3 pounds of Marijuana Wednesday morning during traffic stop on Highway 36 about two miles south of Junction City.
 
On December 20, 2006 at approximately 10:50 a.m., OSP Recruit Jered McLain stopped a 1978 pickup driven by EDWARD KREISS, age 36, from Eugene, for failure to maintain a single lane of travel on Highway 36 near milepost 50. During the stop, Recruit McLain detected an odor of Marijuana and subsequently found approximately 2.8 pounds of Marijuana in bag behind the seat.
 
KREISS was cited to appear in Lane County Circuit Court for Possession of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana and Driving While Suspended. His pickup was towed and impounded.
