OSP Lottery Detective Investigation Helps Lead to Tillamook-area Arrests

Sheriff Office detectives including the Tillamook Narcotics Team along with a detective from the Oregon State Police assigned to the Lottery Office have spent six weeks investigating the October 24, 2006 reported armed robbery of the Center Market in Bay City.
 
This investigation included tracking stolen lottery tickets that were cashed at local stores, viewing security tapes from the stores and interviewing witnesses and suspects.  Through this process, detectives were able to determine that the reported robbery was staged by some of the suspects including MELODY GIBBS, the store clerk who reported the robbery.
 
Arrested and lodged in the Tillamook County Jail were MELODY GIBBS, age 19, from Tillamook; TAWNY HARRIS, age 19, from Tillamook; ROSS CHELONE, age 20, from Tillamook; JOHN HACKER, age 22, from Tillamook; and, MICHAEL BLASER, age 19, from Tillamook.
 
GIBBS was charged with Theft in the First Degree, Hindering Prosecution, and Initiating a False Report.
 
HARRIS and CHELONE were charged with Theft in the First Degree and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
 
HACKER and BLASER were charged with Hindering Prosecution.  HACKER was also charged with Probation Violation and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
