Oregon State Police (OSP) arrested a Colorado man Thursday afternoon during a traffic stop on Highway 140E between Bly and Beatty when troopers found approximately 5 pounds of marijuana in the man's car.
On October 30, 2008 at approximately 3:10 p.m. OSP Trooper David Chambers stopped a 1996 Honda Civic two-door displaying Colorado license plates eastbound on Highway 140E near milepost 43 for speed and lane usage traffic violations. The lone occupant was identified as ANDREW NATHANIEL SKELLENGER, age 26, from Denver, Colorado.
Subsequent investigation during the stop with the assistance of a drug detection canine led to the discovery of approximately 5 pounds of marijuana in a backpack in the car's trunk. The marijuana, with an estimated value of $15,000, was seized and SKELLENGER was taken into custody.
SKELLENGER was lodged in the Klamath County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Distribution and Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance to wit: Marijuana.
