Lieutenant Gregg Hastings Public Information Officer Office: (503) 731-3020 ext. 247 The search for the JAMES KIM family reported missing since November 25, 2006 after last being heard from in Oregon is continuing. State, county and city police agencies are working together in an attempt to develop leads and conduct area searches. Family members JAMES KIM, age 35, KATI KIM, age 30, PENELOPE KIM, age 4, and SABINE KIM, age 7 months, failed to return to San Francisco from a trip to the Pacific Northwest. They were traveling in a silver 2005 Saab 92X station wagon displaying California personalized plates "DOESF". They were believed to be in the Portland area on November 25th enroute to Gold Beach to stay at the Tu Tu Tun Lodge. The family never arrived and has failed to return home in San Francisco. Following search efforts Friday and early this morning, Curry County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Dennis Dinsmore confirmed that the length of Bear Camp Road was checked by Search & Rescue personnel and deputies using 4 x 4 vehicles and a Sno-Cat without finding any sign of the vehicle. Support air search efforts also have not located any sign of the vehicle in their county. Their efforts, supported by similar search efforts involving Josephine County Sheriff's Office, found no sign of the vehicle between Grants Pass and Gold Beach. Personnel from Josephine County Sheriff's Office, Search & Rescue, and BLM (Bureau of Land Management) will continue to check side roads off Bear Camp Road by Sno-Cat. Oregon State Police troopers continued during the evening to keep on the lookout while patrolling area highways. Tips continue to be called into the established phone line of 800-452-7888, but none have led to locating the family or vehicle.
